Partner blog Travelbite reveals some of London’s secret gardens. The UK capital’s not exactly short of green spaces, but it’s always worth knowing about some of its more unusual locations as most of us tend to visit it more than just once.

London Garden Squares, by Charlie Dave
The article kicks off with Mount Street Gardens in Mayfair, right in the heart of the city. Named after Mount Field, where an English Civil War fortification called Oliver’s Mount stood, the gardens also used to be the burial ground for the Hanover Square church of St George. Best visited during the day(?)
Historic Gray’s Inn gardens were laid out in 1606 by Sir Frances Bacon and were originally intended to be used for tranquil city walks. Great spot for a mid-day picnic in Holborn.
St James Square, full of statues and fountains and just off Pall Mall in central London, is only open weekdays.
Our own suggestion is to make an effort to spend some time at the charming Japanese style Kyoto Garden in London’s Holland Park.
