Centre Georges Pompidou – Paris, by Al Ianni
The Bookinistes (book stalls) on the Left Bank of the Seine near Notre Dame offer plenty of scope for browsing while strolling amongst a very interesting crowd, while the Pompidou Centre has no admission fee and street performances in the plaza outside.
Free Notre Dame Cathedral Tours are on offer 3 times a week and entry to the main hall is free at all times. Alternatively, visit the resting places of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde and Camille Pissarro at the bizarre, maze-like Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Amazingly, the Louvre museum is also free to enter on the first Sunday of each month.
These tips should save you quite a few Euros, which can be put to good use towards what’s current and hot in Paris!
