Bloggers My Melange describe their top Paris Picnic spots for those on European travel. In their opinion, particularly during this recession, a Paris picnic is “combining our fiscally responsible adult with our whimsical inner child.” We cannot argue with this!

The suggested picnic locations include the 60 acre Champ du Mars park by the Eiffel tower, the Trocadero gardens (also with Eiffel views, as well as the location of the Varsovian fountains), the mostly man-made Buttes Chaumont park complete with spectacular waterfall and city views, Parc Monceau of Proust fame and, as the photo suggests, almost anywhere along the banks of the river Seine.
Infact, Paris is crammed full of lovely picnic spots. With all the lovely parks, fountains and mostly good weather, it really is a city for relaxed walking with frequent stops for mini-breaks. So, when you’re packing for your Europe vacation, don’t forget that vacuum flask and picnic rug! Also be seasonally adventurous with food, and only buy fresh fruit, cheeses breads and local drinks on the day of the picnic.
