Manchester’s Creative Tourist blog bring us an exhibition of graphic design for those who travel in Europe. The main focus is on the most prolific and influential artist Alan Fletcher who died in 2006.

The venue (CUBE) is showcasing a full retrospective, entitled Alan Fletcher: Fifty years of graphic work (and play). Clients such as Olivetti, Pirelli and Lloyds made use of Fletcher’s most imaginative and modern designs, to obvious great commercial success via identification by consumers in subtle but effective ways.
Following a 2-year Yale scholarship in New York and starting on his own in the 60′s, Fletcher founded two design firms, wrote books, designed and taught up-coming aspirants in his signature all-inclusive manner that achieved almost universal appeal.
The exhibition runs until the 4th of March and tickets are £3.50-£4.00. It should be an unmissable modern classic, permitting views from different angles in today’s evolving workplace/art relationship.
