This relatively recent sport uses wind to pull a rider through the water on a small surfboard or a kiteboard. The sport is fast becoming a desirable part of many seaside European vacations.

There is also the small matter of the 40 000 euro prize money to make the competition go like a rocket! The event will be held June 1st to 6th at Famara in the north of the island. The growth of the sport can only be enhanced by the World Pro Tour being on the island, which seems ideally suited for it.
Lanzarote is adding to its considerable appeal as a holiday and cultural destination all the time. The latest ‘big venue’ being built there is the two million euro Palace of Congress, a structure appropriate for grand cultural events and conventions.
