Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington, by Ewan-M

The museum, founded on the lofty idea of making art and history freely available to all, has been going strong since its inception in 1852! The main arena is architectually unique and also the depository for some of the world’s most amazing art and design. Permanent and temporary exhibitions cover amongst other topics painting, sculpture and jewlery. Its minor sibling, the Museum of Childhood, contains possibly the largest number of articles related to childhood on the planet!

True to London’s mission, the museums are FREE to enter (shame to all you highly-charging filistines, and/or those authorities that force you to do so!)

If in London for the festive season and beyond, use our tips for the 12 top attractions. You should also try visiting the cool 60’s music exhibition.
