I picked the recent article on night-time in Bremen by partner Cheap Weekend Breaks mainly for the photos – they were both brilliant and seasonal!

The article is short on story, but again, the photos do convey a picture of what is going on, which is a sweet expectation of a traditional German Christmas.
I initially knew of Bremen as one of the German cities that was bombed most heavily by the allies in world war II. Since the end of the hostilities, it has made a remarkable recovery. It is said that today’s Bremen offers the traveller a perfect blend of heritage and cosmopolitan style. Attractions include the rejuvenated Schlachte Promenade on the River Weser, the Universum Science Center and a full-sized Columbus Space Module of the International Space Station.
The city has also made a strong effort to decorate itself for the festivities, making the centre an interesting place to walk around during the evening.
