Europe a la Carte’s Neha describes the Strossmayer Promenade, an escape route within the city limits of Croatia’s capital Zagreb.

Zagreb Funicular connecting Ilica Street with the Strossmayer promenade. By Roberat
The Promenade is a place for all, having different uses throughout the year. It is a handy escape from the heat as well as the site of the Strossmartein festival in the summer, a romantic getaway in autumn, and a general congregation place for artists and groups of friends alike all year round.
The author also conjures a most alluring pre-winter image of chewing on sweet charcoal-grilled chestnuts under antique ornate lamps while gazing at the best views of Zagreb!
I guess Strossmayer Promenade must be some kind of wonderful to get the locals to choose not to use the free public transport in Zagreb!
