Member Tourism in Italy make the unusual suggestion of a soccer watching holiday.

Now, I know that Italians take the national sport pretty seriously. So, if in search of that real Italian flavour, perhaps you should not restrict yourself to pasta and extra-virgin olive oil!
The Italian soccer season runs from August to May, thereby permitting visitors to catch a game while on holiday. However, the tickets, particularly for the national team, may be impossible to find unless booked well in advance. Serie A football leagues at the top tier are the most thrilling (but expensive). Again, advance match ticket booking is advised. Visiting dedicated ‘soccer tourism’ providers may pay dividents in terms of reasonably priced tickets and transport, but accommodation should be a matter of personal taste.
When soccer-watching in Italy, it may be best to dress neutrally and demurely, and also try to look obviously ‘foreign’ and as a ‘tourist’. This is because, when soccer-watching, your average friendy Italian (male) morphs into a fiercely loyal individual that may prove dangerous to his perceived opponents!
For several novel, if more tame ideas for Italian tourism, simply type ‘Italy’ in the search box to the right, and/or use the search in the europealacarte blog. There, you will almost certainly find something appropriate for persuading your loved one to accompany you to that dream soccer match!
