Partner Secret Dalmatia writes about Skradin on the coast near Sibenik. Amongst the facades of the old town, there’s supposed to exist a real sense of peace and tranquility, despite the many holidaymakers boarding boats to the Krka waterfalls nearby.

The rich Roman, medieval and religious history has resulted in a heady melee, imparting an atmosphere unique to Skradin. This was an important harbour in Roman times, until the Ottoman Turks invaded in the 14th century, after which it all went quiet. It now feels as if the town is just awakening from its long slumber.

I was in Skradin for around 30 minutes before boarding the boat to the Krka National Park and saw many reasonably priced menus at the restaurants there. My tip is to eat in Skradin as opposed to the restaurants in the National Park which are way over priced.

Have you been in Skradin for more than a few minutes? If so ,what did you most like about it?
