Europe a la Carte inform us of this year’s Berwick upon Tweed Film Festival. The main screenings to be held in the town’s Maltings arts centre. However, as you can see below in the River Tweed screening of a previous film, the festival’s venues are not necessarily restriced to the arts centre! This year there’ll be videos and short films at the Prison Cells, Bankhill Icehouse and Gymnasium Gallery which are free of charge to attend.

This year’s offerings are to include classics such as Laurel and Hardy, Woody Allen’s “Sleeper”, the world premiere of “Tokyo is Dreaming”, a documentary about Sighthill in Glasgow and various short films.
In addition to going for the festival, it is also worth visiting this unusual market town for its beautiful beaches, rich history and intact fortifications.
So, why not make a short break of it, the tourist season will be just over and there’ll be plenty of types of suitable accommodation to choose from!
