One good resource is the Camping and Caravanning Club, who can point you to quality locations and facilities, whether you fancy tents or mobile homes. Although I wouldn’t go as far as the people in the fourwheeler above, I do quite fancy the idea of camping in either wild or non-too-civilized places, but with some home comforts thrown in, for a price less than a room or chalet in a packed location.

Er, “glamping” and “budget travel” are a contradiction in terms.
By definition, glamping is 5-star. It’s definitely not cheap.

Having a slightly upscale campervan does not qualify!

Caitlin, I suspect that to most people, glamping is simply a fun term describing an upmarket form of camping/caravaning. As such, everyone can put their own personal stamp on it and be free to make of it what they wish. As for the African safaris, I was only commenting on the original article on glamping in the UK and Europe.
