Many Brits combine a vacation with going to a music festival on mainland Europe. In theory the weather should be better and kinder to campers, also the gig tickets are often cheaper in mainland Europe than in the UK, so the overall cost can be the same as attedance at a gig on home shores. Our son Gary wrote about his trip to Metal Camp in Slovenia.

Metal Camp, Slovenia
However due to rain and increasing amounts of mud, the 2009 festival was nicknamed “Metal Swamp”. Gary found there was a friendlier atmosphere and that the toilet facilities were bettter maintained in Slovenia than at metal events he’d attended in the UK.
Have you attended festival in mainland Europe, how would you rate them against UK offerings?
