Jack of Eyeflare tells us where to find money off vouchers for restaurants in the UK. Many chain restaurants such as Pizza Express and La Tasca offer up to 50% off your food bill.
La Tasca, Victoria Square, Belfast
I had a look at the small print on the La Tasca voucher and the current voucher is valid until 31 August 2009 all day, every day on main menu items at participating restaurants but the offer can be withdrawn at any time. However you can’t use the voucher with set menu or promotional items.
Therefore I’d advise you to check at the restaurant before ordering that they will accept your voucher. Also check out any specials on the menu as they may be better value. I had lunch at the La Tasca in Victoria Square in Belfast recently and could get 5 tapas for £10.

The other secret is to look for early bird menus (which often go under the name of pre-theatre menus etc).
A lot of these are springing up. I’ve just been doing some research into restaurant deals in my home town, and found that eating before 7pm is the key – some really good restaurants doing deals such as three courses and a glass of wine for £14.50. Come after seven, and the price pretty much doubles.

David – I agree the best value restaurants meals are at lunch time or early evening. I suppose the problem for tourists is that they are busy visiting museums, attractions etc during the day and it’s evenings that they have free to relax and enjoy a meal.
