The Bay of Kotor in Montenegro is sometimes incorrectly described as a fjord but technically it is an underwater river canyon. The Old Town in Kotor is a UNESCO heritage site and has almost three miles of Venetian walls. Althought the bay is really beautiful there are no beaches and water quality is not great for swimming.
