One of the insitutions of the German city of Lubeck is Cafe Niederegger, where marizpan is the house speciality. The Cafe has been part of the Lubeck landscape since 1806 and offers three hundred types of marzipan, as well as the famous nut cake. In Summer you can sit out on the Cafe terrace with views over the Town Hall.

I’ve been to Lubeck, althought not to Cafe Niederegger. It’s a great city for short breaks and easy to reach with Ryanair who use it as their Hamburg airport.
